Description
This issue has to do with the commuter path that borders the Grace property and their parking lot. When their lot is plowed they push the snow into the park space that borders the path. There used to be a fence there, which was removed, but now the plows push that snow right into the trees on the edge and they have broken trees and plowed them over. It's sad and wrong! There needs to be a barrier to protect the trees. There needs to be more attention paid to that space. It is treated as if it doesn't matter. There is a tree on their lot which borders the path. It is not healthy. Branches break. There's a lot of those branches just lying there. I actually pushed them off the "park" and onto the parking lot. There should be new trees planted--and kept safe from plows. Finally, in the growing season a lush growth of weedy plants fills that park space. I would rather see that than what the maintenance crew does--mow/weed whack it down to unsightly dry stubs. How is this better? As we enter the new growing season I hope some good attention can be paid to this space.

First, I think the Grace property has new owners. However, this issue as described seems to be abutting the Alewife Center property parking lot which is separate from the larger Grace property.
We need a more specific location. Is this towards the Rt. 16 side of the Alewife Center parking lot or closer to the MBTA entrance side of the Alewife Center property. One side would be the State highway/DCR and the other side could be either MBTA or private property.
As far as I know, there is no City of Cambridge owned land in that area.
