Deskripsyon

The corner of 10th Street and Hoosick Street going west, there should be a "no right turn on red" sign. Vehicles are forever pulling out into the driving lane in order to take a right on red. This has the potential for a very serious accident. I have complained about this situation before, but evidently no one from the traffic dept reads these comments. It would be advisable for them to occasionally pay attention to the citizens using the roads as they are the ones to spot these problems.

This would make alot of sense. It's an accident waiting to happen. There is a green arrow allowing for safe right hand turns. It should be posted "No Right on Red".

As a pedestrian, I frequently have that issue at this intersection, even though I make a point to wait for the walk signal before crossing (ESPECIALLY with my children). But the drivers ignore that as well, and I'll be left standing or have to jump back to avoid turning drivers ...

As a driver, I'm going to have to disagree. I'm a careful driver though, one who doesn't ignore pedestrians and ignore traffic. If I had to sit at that light and wait for it to turn green just to make a right turn so I can go about my day, I would be pretty angry. During peak hours, that light takes dreadfully long. That being said, I usually go down Ingalls or Middleburgh to get onto Route 7 or downtown Troy. The problem isn't the fact that we're allowed to go right on red, the problem is the inconsiderate and incompetent drivers who think its cool to just put the nose of their car out in traffic.

I agree with nathan, no right on red here would cause traffic to back up and cause so many problems.
