Dietz Stadium is in violation of the local law concerning recycling of plastic bottles, cans, and paper. There is no containers for these materials and there are not enough trash cans either.
I will be sure that they know about this and will alert the chair of the stadium commission.
He can follow up. (BTW the chair for the commission is the City's comptroller)
They are aware of the law and what is required- the sad thing is people want to recycle when visit the stadium, but there are no receptacles for the whole facility. This notice inspired them to place two small containers for recycling at the vending hut, that was it.
The supervisor for the stadium has been made aware of the situation. I heard back from the Stadium Commission's chairman who responded. They will also address the situation further at their next meeting to be sure they are doing all they can. I sit in on these meetings so I'll let you know.
You had a great opportunity to institute recycling at the Stadium in the last 3 weeks... KHS graduation and the removal of tons of PET turf. Unfortunately, no sign of recycling either.
I agree with the comments by Michelle. I also do not see anyone giving out tickets on my street.. I am the only one who puts out a recycling bin.. The truck comes down my street only to pick up MY BIN.. no one else, and they all own there own homes, recycles.. No one tickets these individuals.. It is a shame.. I am a renter.. and I do my part.. Where is the enforcement of the law?
By recycling, $100,000 and more would be saved- which would help keep rising taxes to a minimum. I watched at Deitz Stadium all summer- it is PATHETIC that this well used facility has inadequate recycling bins.
