l'd love to see a car on 11th & Park or 11th & Garden, midway between the bus stops at Willow and Washington. Much of the public comment on this program during the council meeting focused on the visibility benefits of locating Hertz cars on streets, rather than in garages, and the positive impact such visibility will have on the program's success. 11th St is a high visibility location, with lots of foot traffic - people walking to the bus stops on 11th & Willow and 11th and Washington, kids & parents walking to Wallace school, etc. For this reason, and because it's in the heart of a residential neighborhood with the closest ZipCar located north of 14th St, Park or Garden at 11th would be a particularly wise choice. The closest proposed locations - 12th and Garden and 10th and Willow - don't have near as much visibility. Foot traffic at those locations is fraction of that on 11th St. Also, a location on or near Park gives drivers a convenient direct shot out of town.
