Description
There is a lot of litter on and around the overpass where North College Road crosses I-140. There is litter on the edges of the overpass that can go down the storm drains. There is also a lot of litter on the banks of the overpass . Would it be possible for inmate work crews to clean up this area?

Hi,
I bicycled by on Memorial Day and nothing has been done. As well as using inmate work crews, can community service workers be used also? At this point I'm just not sure who should be contacted. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks,

John,
It looks like there weren't any public watchers in this area when you reported the issue. A watch area was recently made for the County, and they've been notified about it just now. I agree that litter in this area is a problem. Thank you very much for offering constructive solutions!

Hi,
I rode my bicycle by there this past Sunday and nothing has been done yet. I would really like to find a way to get this area cleaned up. I suppose New Hanover County has some mechanism in place to do this but I would also like to see some community involvement. Are there any volunteer groups that could do this? Ideally, the people responsible for the litter should be the ones to pick it up. That is why I thought that people who have been assigned community service work could do it. Would it be possible to contact the person responsible for community service assignments and see if this would be possible?
Thanks,

Hi,
This area has not been cleaned up yet, but I did call the New Hanover County DOT office yesterday and gave them the information regarding the area that needs to be cleaned up. They made a report and were going to pass it on to a supervisor. I'll watch the area on my commute and see if it gets cleaned up in the next few weeks.

Hi,
Nothing has been done yet. I've contacted the local State DOT office and reported the problem (about 2 weeks ago).
Thanks,

Hi,
On my way home from work yesterday I saw that the litter has all been picked up and the storm drains have been cleaned. Thanks for your help with getting this done.
