Description
This traffic light has no protected left turn, when you are making a left from Blue Clay onto 117 you cannot see around the opposing traffic. Therefore, you have to put your car into the intersection and try to look around those waiting to turn left on the opposite side of the road. This is extremely dangerous and can be fixed with a simple left turn arrow or protected left.

I live in the northern part of the county in the Castle Hayne area. I
have a serious concern about the traffic pattern at the intersection of
Blue Clay Road and North College Road. If you are coming from the
sheriff's department towards N. College Road and need to turn left, you
are going to be taking your life in your own hands. The way the
intersection is laid out the oncoming traffic is obscured by the traffic
turn south onto N College. We live off of Parmele and have to go this
way. The intersection doesn't need to be reconfigured just add a left
turn light and adjust the signals. If you are confused about my
description I urge you to go there and observe even attempt to turn
north onto N. College Rd, you will see what I mean.
I do not know how to contact with the county or the state but something
needs to be done about this intersection. Since I have lived in that
area there have been at least 5 major accidents that I have seen. Your
help would be greatly appreciated in resolving this matter and making
this a safer intersection for all (CFCC student, residents and public
safety officers) who pass through.
