Description

The trees on Newhall Street between Thompson and Division streets are lifting the sidewalks which is dangerous for people walking, riding bikes, and kids running and playing. People trip over these areas as they walk down the street. Will the city take responsibility for falls or injuries since they won't allow us to remove the trees. I was told that I could not remove the tree myself or I will be fined for tampering with city property. I made many complaints without any resolution. While the sidewalks on other streets in the neighborhood were done over , our block continues to be overlooked and passed by. Although most of us are homeowners and maintain our homes well, the sidewalks are a major concern. We have complained without any response from anyone. I'm not sure who makes the decision on the type of trees planted throughout the city but the person(s) should seriously consider the size the tree will grow before planting in a small area between the street and curb.
