All cars are moved to the even side between Thompson and Division but the plows keep coming straight down the middle. Can you have the plows come closer to clear the odd side of the street so we can park cars after the ban is lifted. We have this issue every time we snow. We all follow instructions but the plows don’t clear the odd side of the street. Thanks!

The sidewalk on odd side of Newhall Street between Thompson and Division Streets is severely damaged. It is crumbling and lifted from tree stumps through the entire block. This is a great safety concern for our handicapped neighbor. He is a homeowner that enjoys spending time outside in his wheelchair which is not electric. The uneven and unsafe sidewalk makes it very difficult for him to roll up and down the street. Also it is unsafe for kids riding their bikes. Although the street was repaved a few years back the sidewalks and curbs were never addressed. Please have someone come survey the sidewalks on the block and address the safety for our elderly and children. Thank you.

The trees on Newhall Street between Thompson and Division streets are lifting the sidewalks which is dangerous for people walking, riding bikes, and kids running and playing. People trip over these areas as they walk down the street. Will the city take responsibility for falls or injuries since they won't allow us to remove the trees. I was told that I could not remove the tree myself or I will be fined for tampering with city property. I made many complaints without any resolution. While the sidewalks on other streets in the neighborhood were done over , our block continues to be overlooked and passed by. Although most of us are homeowners and maintain our homes well, the sidewalks are a major concern. We have complained without any response from anyone. I'm not sure who makes the decision on the type of trees planted throughout the city but the person(s) should seriously consider the size the tree will grow before planting in a small area between the street and curb.

The city planted 2 trees in front of my house quite a few years back. Every summer we have issues with the trees being infested with bees due to the type of tree it is. The flower buds fall to the ground and the bees are all over the front walkway and grass in front of my home from June - September. It is unfair that we can't enjoy being outside due to the trees planted by the City. Multiple people have experienced bee stings due to this tree. My granddaughter swells from the bee stings. My husband was stung twice yesterday while using the blower to get the droppings up. We had a gathering over the weekend with multiple family and friends being stung including my 3yr old nephew whose eye was swollen from a being stung. This is not a bee hive issue this is an issue with the tree attracting bees. No matter how many times we spray spending so much money to get rid of them, this problem does not go away. I was told that I could not remove the tree myself or I will be fined for tampering with city property. The tree is also lifting the sidewalk in front of my house which is another hazard since people trip over it as they walk down the street. As much as I love the shade the tree provides I can't be responsible for bee stings and falls that are happening. I am begging you all to please address this matter quickly. Please replace these trees with a more people friendly tree. The 2 that are in front are too dangerous for my family, friends, and neighbors that walk by. We can't even sit on our front porch on a nice day without running from the bees. I made complaints at least twice in the last few years but still nothing. Not even a follow up on what can be done. There are many dead branches as well.

This is the 2nd notification regarding a tree planted by the city in front of my house. This tree sheds leaves and berries that has damaged my grass through the summer, now it is damaging my sidewalk from the stains that are being left from the leaves and berries falling. It also has has become a nuisance with the cars due to birds feeding of this tree. I have asked to replace this tree with one that causes less headache, stress, and cost-effective for my househould when landscaping. Please call me if I have other options like removing the tree myself. The last time I tried to do this 6 years ago I was given a warning that I would be ticketed so I'm asking you to do so. If not call me 203.530.4571
