Description

The city planted 2 trees in front of my house quite a few years back. Every summer we have issues with the trees being infested with bees due to the type of tree it is. The flower buds fall to the ground and the bees are all over the front walkway and grass in front of my home from June - September. It is unfair that we can't enjoy being outside due to the trees planted by the City. Multiple people have experienced bee stings due to this tree. My granddaughter swells from the bee stings. My husband was stung twice yesterday while using the blower to get the droppings up. We had a gathering over the weekend with multiple family and friends being stung including my 3yr old nephew whose eye was swollen from a being stung. This is not a bee hive issue this is an issue with the tree attracting bees. No matter how many times we spray spending so much money to get rid of them, this problem does not go away. I was told that I could not remove the tree myself or I will be fined for tampering with city property. The tree is also lifting the sidewalk in front of my house which is another hazard since people trip over it as they walk down the street. As much as I love the shade the tree provides I can't be responsible for bee stings and falls that are happening. I am begging you all to please address this matter quickly. Please replace these trees with a more people friendly tree. The 2 that are in front are too dangerous for my family, friends, and neighbors that walk by. We can't even sit on our front porch on a nice day without running from the bees. I made complaints at least twice in the last few years but still nothing. Not even a follow up on what can be done. There are many dead branches as well.
