tires and trash still there

Hi Gary, After seeing your first post, I picked up 10 as I am doing tire planters for our community garden, and last week-end when I drove by for more I saw that they were gone (which is a good thing) and tree limbs blocking the entrance to get in. Is this the next to the railroad tracks? or another place on Hazel?

Hi, I have not been that way for a couple of weeks as the Elm St bridge was closed but the tires and junk were next to a vacant building next to the rail road tracks. If you took them away thank you. It is so cool that you are using them in a garden. thanks again

That is the place. I got some of them but it was clean of the rest of the tires and other trash last week-end (I needed 3 more tires for the frog planter). Here is one made from that pile. We also have a TeaCup for our strawberries, flower planters for potatoes, and the parts cut out we used to boarder our herb garden so all of the tires were used. SCF would only allow one photo upload :)

That is so cool, what an interesting way to use old tires. I am glad to hear that area has been cleaned up. I think you could get a couple more tires from that place on Penn.Ave and Baker St. they have lots!

Thank Gary. We just put the last 3 tires to use in the garden this afternoon. We are all set with tires for this year, and have moved on to painting cinder blocks to boarder our flowers/Pine tree on Holmes and Malcolm X. Over the Fall/Winter I will pick up what I see on the street for other fun projects. Now if I can find a way to create something with mattresses....
