The cut through is a symptom. On the Minuteman Bike Trail pedestrians stroll across Lake Street at leisure, one at a time, and there are bushes right to the road, so cars need to go slow in case bikes just jut out unseen. Meanwhile, cars must stop and start according to the light signals at the corner of Hardy School.
The Town has known that pedestrians and bikes must be regulated/synchronized so there is a flow for traffic coming through Belmont and from route 2. So anger should not be directed at neighbors trying desperately to get home to families in less than 40 minutes (should take 10).
