Description
The two sets of lights are at Eglinton and Sutherland Drive, and Eglinton and Rumsey Road (the two side streets west of Laird) are changing every 20 seconds, even when there is no s/n traffic thus creating major gridlock.
In the past the pedestrian light would count down to zero but unless the pedestrian button had been pushed the Eglinton traffic light would remain green and the pedestrian sign would return to 'Walk'. A few months ago there was some road work on Eglinton and ever since the Eglinton traffic signals are only staying green for 20 seconds. The pedestrian sign now counts down to zero and the traffic on Eglinton is stopped regardless of there not being a pedestrian present. This is
creating terrible gridlock on Eglinton and the traffic is often blocking Laird Drive. Needless to say it is also causing numerous vehicles to sit there idling needlessly.

This is the problem that seems to be falling on deaf ears at City Hall. War on the Car ? I think so.
