New Haven residents can use the Transfer Station for free with the vouchers. 4 yard waste vouchers(leaves, branches, trees) and 4 bulk waste vouchers allowing residents to drop off 7 items of bulk a visit, are valid for one year. Construction or demolition materials such as wood, fencing, roof shingles, sheetrock, masonry, toilets, tubs may be properly disposed of through the use of the Transfer Station for a charge of $0.05 per pound. There is confusion as I was directed to dump my pile in the same dumpster as other folks who had not been asked to weigh their load. Maybe I need to be friends with the guys working there? plywood from ripped out built in furniture was dumped for free, my scrap wood, obviously old and wet was turned away with my coupon.

Nope, I dont have any old couches or beds I need to dispose of seven pieces at a time. Its free for seven pieces? That is a joke. A load is a load, do it by weight or truckload. Seven pieces???

the city comes and gets it for free if you dump it on the street, no questions asked.
