Why don't we talk about putting up a decorative iron gate around the park. Seems like the only way to help dissuade the cyclist from tearing up the park is to limit such easy access around the Arroyo Viejo park. No one can comfortably enjoy the park anyway for fear of being hit, and tearing up the grass. The park could be open for walk in access from dawn to dusk and locked in the after dusk. Again no one inhabits the park after dusk other than people in their addiction. They leave needles all around for children to pick up, in addition there is a lot of dumping of trash and furniture, and clothing left in the park for city of Oakland to have constantly deploy staff/resources to deal with.
Thank you for contacting the Oakland Call Center regarding this matter. Please report this issue to the Oakland Police Department, Non-emergency Line, at (510) 777-3333.
