Due to the homeless encampment underneath the freeway this problem has worsened by the day.

What does it cost the tax payer to keep baby sitting these drunk and stoned vagrants. They do nothing to even try get help or clean up there hovels. Its also nice to see they have more rights then the law abiding taxpayers that fund there life choices. The more the system enables them the more they want.

Northgate is the street exiting from the Freeway. All visitors see this entering Oakland in which I'm truly ashamed in which our Civic leaders are not. This is why there's no political will to implement any public policy. EVERY and ALL encampments will have this trash and fifth. They feel that society owes them and this is their entitlement. Clean-up cost will continue to bleed funds from Oakland that were earmark for other needed Civic Services.

I have had out of state and foreign visitors who are shocked by the homeless encampments. I am saddened by them but unfortunately I am also used to their presence and the fact that no one in city government can or will address the problem. I realize it's not just here in Oakland but this is where I live. The problem is less severe in places where homeless people can actually freeze in winter because there really IS a winter. I believe they are migrating to more temperate climates increasing populations in areas like this.
