This message is to inform you that the issue you reported to the City of Detroit must be reported to the City Sidewalk Engineers who repair the sidewalks. We work closely with the Sidewalk Engineers and if they need Forestry to remove the tree to repair the sidewalk they will put in a request . Their number is 313-224-3954.

This is a SAFETY ISSUE!!! What if a child was walking home from the school 1 block away and tripped? The child would break his face open, possibly break their nose, and or jaw and teeth!

I closed this issue because it is out of our jurisdiction. Removing the tree is not going to repair the lifted sidewalk it will still be lifted. Forestry does not remove/fix the sidewalks. You must contact City Sidewalk Engineers to come out and investigate the sidewalk repair. If they need Forestry to remove the tree they will contact this division. The number is 313-224-3954. This will be recategorize to DPW potholes and they can send it to where it needs to go.
