City is never consistent when it comes to sweeping/plowing laws. Hence people take a chance. Not a good system. Either strictly enforce laws, or don't have them.
Hi! Just posted this response on street sweeping issue on Eld. This "street sweeping" is an additional 6 week citywide sweep to prepare for our winter season. It is not a part of usual routine street sweeping operations that run both a Tag-Tow and Non Tag-Non Tow operation throughout our street sweeping season ,April-October. We did send notices out about the special presnow season operations through the See Click Fix e-mail and text system. We included the link to city website then for residents to refer to the schedule in order to cooperate and move cars out of the street sweepers' way. Here is the link from our city website: http://cityofnewhaven.com/PublicWorks/WhatsNew.asp Thanks!
Sweepers just went through the even side of Humphrey Street...no signs posted...sweepers went around parked cars...another dumb city event. Is it so hard to do theses simple jobs? Do you need help with theses "difficult" decisions?
I give up William I take pride in keeping Humphrey clean I do a lot of mowing on that street living on it for 30 years posting signs towing cars than posting signs and not towing I don't understand every year
Simple answer. As with snow removal the city does not enforce the rules regarding parking with the exception of down town New Haven. We had permanent signs stating these rules but they were taken down evidently because people can't read. Strange administrating.
Thanks for all of your feedback during the 2016 Street Sweeping Season which operated from April-November. Since the weather so far has been somewhat mild, we have been able to sweep extra along arterial locations. Our seasonal focus now shifts to snow so we are closing this category. We will once again review your feedback before planning for the Street Sweeping 2017 Season. Happy New Year!
