City Hall – DR assigned this issue to Sewer Separation Project Team

Thank you for your email about this issue. I have spoken with the resident engineer, and the contractor will be prioritizing overall project clean-up next week, in advance of the winter months. This allows them to streamline and be more efficient with their work efforts. Your concern has been added to that list of areas to focus on and will be addressed at that time. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Three weeks ofvtrash left on the street is considered appropriate? If I left a pile of trash and bricks in front of my house for three days I would expect a knock on the door asking me to clear the trash immediately. Yes there is older debris that also needs to be collected. Some of the trash at Royal and Concord is at least a year old and now covered with leaves. Why is this stuff not addressed each day as job sites are shut down? That is what is required of private contractors. Why are the city's exempt? Also can you assure me that the Tunis and debris will be removed rather than dumped elsewhere. I have observed contractor staff tossing trash on private and public property.

The contractor is reminded weekly about making sure their jobsites are kept as clean as possible. I will bring that to their attention this week. Consistent efforts have been made, specific to Manassas Ave and elsewhere, to remove excess debris as construction work continues. You are correct, the city is not exempt to this issue, which is why we continue to address resident concerns on a daily basis. The contractor's have their own dumpsters, which is where they throw the debris. If you have a specific date, time and location of the specific incidence you describe, I will do my best to try and identify this individual. Otherwise, I will remind the contractor this week to continue utilizing their own dumpsters to dispose of this material. Thank you.

Thank you. Just walked down Huron to vote at Lexingto on Avrnue and the whole street is strewn with trash. Caution tape, sticks, brok n pipe plus the coffee cups and water bottles that contractor staff toss on a daily basis. If the answer is that the City does not hold contractors accountable, just say so. Yeah f they are held accountable why don't things change.

My neighbors and I are paying for this work yet we seem to be treated as an annoyance.
