Is there going to be a garbage can put in over here? It is needed.

I have lived across the street from this store for almost 9 years and have some experience with this issue. For a long time, when the can was in place, the intersection was a mess. The problem was created by people pulling up in front of the store who would often empty the trash out of their cars into this can. The employees of the store also, at times, used this for store trash rather than the dumpster in the back. It was constantly overflowing, usually not too long after its' once per week emptying, every sunday night. Making matters worse was the fact that DPW would not pick up trash that inevitably spilled out and onto the ground while they were emptying it. At some point in 2009 Greg Dildine reached out to DPW and they began to empty the can 2 - 3 times per week, including Sunday. Multiple pickups during the week improved the situation considerably. However, at some point there was a decision made to remove this can and many others in the city and in this neighborhood. Cans at Edgewood and Central and at Edgewood and West Rock for example. I would like to see less trash here, too. It often ends up in my yard. But be careful what you wish for. It was much worse in the past than it is now.
