Nothing has changed when SCSU is in session. Timing of light at Blake and Springside is the same. Numbet of cars going the wrong way south on Hard Street grows daily.
You take your life in your hands when you attempt to make a right hand turn from Austin to Hard Street. It is often a blind turn because cars park where No Parking is posted in n last spot before Austin-Hard intersection.
Someone is going to get hurt seriously or killed if nothing is done about ALL these issues.

The lack of response to issues I have reported lately has led me to believe reporting is futile as the pile of tires on corner of Valley and West Hills Rd has grown from 1-3 and city trucks were parked there when streets were recently swept. Also 18 wheeler continues to park overnight in Valley Street parking lot and the latest report of mattress thrown in parking lot next to 500 Blake Street fence is still there.
If nothing continues to be done and these issues are not addressed it is ridicuolously futile to report anything furthet

Even though I said I was no longer going to report on See Click Fix in the future I need to report more illegal dumping on the last day of 2016.
In the same place, after the driveway v for 146 Springside Avenue in the lot, a large black what looks like a TV stand/console has been dumped and in the back of the lot directly across the street are 3 large sheets of wood that have been there and reported for at least the last 3 months.
Dont know why I am bothering because Nothing has been done with the wood in the lot and I am sure that the dumping by 146 Springside will be added to as always.

The backup continues. More than anything including volume it is also because the timing of the light on the corner of Springside and Blake. If the lead car at the light is taking a left turn from Springside onto Blake heading toward Fitch Street, the light takes almost 3 minutes to change and the line on Springside backs up to at least the first curve or in the case of school and college dismissal up Springside to Hard Street.

I have not seen any difference with the timing of the traffic light on the corner of Springside Avenue and Blake Street. It can be a very long wait for cars turning right onto Blake towards Westville Center if the first carin line is waiting for the light to change to turn left towards Fitch Street.
The light on the corner of Valley and Blake is just as bad at the times SCSU is in session at 3:30 and around 4:30 - 5:00 because there the light is also mistimed and only a limited number of cars can take the left on Blake to go to SCSU and that is only if the cars continuing on Blake to Whalley don't ignore the light and "block the box" as many if them do to avoid waiting for the next light. When they do this cars coming down Blake cannot make the left turn onto Valley street either.
These have been issues for a long time and I have seen othets complain about the same thing.

This is still an issue especially with the timing of the lights at Blake and Springside as well as Blake and Valley especially when SCSU students are arriving for classes and leaving classes to go home.
Very frustrating. Please do something!!!!!

THIS HAS BECOME A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THERE IS GOING TO BE A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE IMMEDIATELY.
I WATCH EVERYDAY AS THE TRAFFIC SPEEDS DOWN SPRINGSIDE FROM WINTERGREEN SO AS TO AVOID THE LONG LINES AND LIGHT AT FARNHAM AVENUE. EVERYDAY AT 3:30.
WHEN THE DRIVERS SEE THAT THE LINE OF CARS EXTENDS FROM BLAKE STREET LIGHT BACK TO 90 SPRINGSIDE AND HARD STREET INTERSECTION, THEY GO SPEEDING THE WRONG WAY DOWN HARD STREET TO STONE STREET WITHOUT ANY REGARD FOR THE CARS COMING UP AUSTIN TO HARD STREET. I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF NEAR MISSES MYSELF. I WISH ONE DAY THAT SOMEONE FROM THE TRAFFIC DOVISION COULD COME SIT ON HARD STREET AND WITNESS THIS AND TICKET THESE DRIVERS GOING THE WRONG WAY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. I WITNESSED AT LEAST 5 CARS YESTERDAY DO THIS.

As it is summer the issue has been better although I did see a report of the same thing occurring because of the camp at Common Ground.

TRAFFIC CONTROL DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS SPRINGSIDE, AUSTIN AND HARD STREETS AREA. CONSTANT SPEEDING SOUTH ON SPRINGSIDE, BIG DELIVERY TRUCKS COMING CLOSE TO OUR OVERHEAD WIRES.
SPRINGSIDE AVENUE AND BLAKE STREET ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCKS.
BLAKE STREET WAS EVEN POSTED "NO THROUGH TRUCKS ALLOWED". DON'T KNOW WHY THAT ORDINANCE WAS CHANGED.
WE REALLY NEED TO HAVE A TRAFFIC STUDY OF THIS AREA !!. SPEED HUMPS ON SPRINGSIDE TO SLOW SPEEDERS AND DIRT BIKES AND QUADS DOWN.

Nothing has changed. School is starting again both in New Haven and at SCSU. This also continued over the summer but not to the extent that it will be now. WE NEED A TRAFFIC STUDY ON THIS STREET AS THE TRAFFIC HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY HEAVY INCLUDING BIG BOX TRUCKS AND OCCASIONAL SEMI'S DELIVERING FOOD, BUSSES, SPEEDING CARS AND QUADS AND DIRT BIKES.
THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE USING WINTERGREEN AVENUE WHICH IS BUILT MORE FOR THIS TYPE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC.

I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY CHANGE OR IMPROVEMENT TO THIS ISSUE. YESTERDAY I WAS THE 11TH CAR IN LINE AT THE LIGHT AT THE CORNER OF BLAKE AND SPRINGSIDE AND THERE WERE SIX CARS BEHIND ME. ONLY 6 CARS MADE IT THROUGH AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGED. DING ILL
THE LIGHT DOES NOT CHANGE FOR AT LEAST THREE MINUTES!!!!

I AM TIRED OF REPORTING ISSUES INCLUDING ILLEGAL DUMPING AS I REPORTED MIRE DUMPING AT GRASSY AREA NEAR AND ACROSS FROM 146 SPRINGSIDE AVRNUE OVER THREE WEEKS AGO AND ON THE EVEN SIDE AT 146 THE BROKEN FURNITURE IS STILL THERE AS ARE THE 12 + PAPER AND BLACK PLASTIC LEAF BAGS IN THE EMPTY FIELD ACROSS THE STREET.

I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER EVEN RECEIVED AN ACKNOWLEDMENT THAT THESE E MAILS ARE EVEN READ OR FOLLOWED THROUGH ON. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE IN TWO YEARS ABOUT THE HIGH GRASS ISSUE I REPORTED ACROSS FROM 90-146 SPRINGSIDE. THE GRASS AND WEEDS HAVE GROWN SO HIGH IT IS AT LEAST 4 FEET UP THE TELEPHONE POLES AND IS COVERING THE TRAFFIC SIGNS.

I WOULD APPRECIATE A RESPONSE FROM THE CITY ON THESE ISSUES OR I AND MY NEIGHBORS WILL BE TAKING THIS FURTHER TO OUR ALDERWOMAN.

WE DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO OR WHO WE HAVE TO SPEAK WITH TO GET THESE ON GOING DANGEROUS SITUATIONS ADDRESSED BUT I AM SURE IF IT WAS IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED BY NOW.

It appears that the timing of the traffic light on the corner of Blake and Valley has been changed to make it a better flow.
However I see no change in the timing of the light at Blake and Springside which adds to the frusyration of the drivers going south on Springside to Blake so CONSEQUENTLY MORE AND MORE CARS ARE GOING DOWN HARD STREET THE WRONG WAY SO AS TO NOT HAVE TO WAIT AT THE LIGHT AND SOMEONE OBEYING THE LAW ON THE ONE WAY STREET IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR WORSE. I SEE MANY CARS NOW THAT GO DOEN HARD STREET THE WRONG WAY OM A REGULAR BASIS.

Good Afternoon. The intersections of Blake/Springside and Blake/Farnham are controlled by a single controller. I have also been monitoring the vehicle detection here to make sure that all approaches are actuated properly. Traffic operation for this pair of intersections has been changed to allow Springside as well as Farnham to service the maximum amount of time based on vehicle demand. This should alleviate part of the congestion at this location but please be aware that the controller is still required to cycle back to Blake to satisfy this demand as well. It would be very helpful if you would please let me know if you see a change now that operation has been adjusted. I monitor SeeClickFix and am alerted when updates are made. I am also aware of the concern with motorists using Hard Street against the one-way. While there is nothing that TT&P can do, I feel sure that you have already notified NHPD, but I would be remiss if I did not recommend that action. Thank you for your patience, Scott at TT&P

Thank you Scott. The problem of back up from Springside and Blake all the way back to Hard and Springside and even farther still exists aslong a SCSU is in session. I almost got hit head on by a wrong way driver speeding down Hard Street the wrong way yesterday. I had expected that this issue would be passed along to the police department
because other issues have been brought to the attention of other departments.
