Descrizione
For almost three weeks there has been a trash heap including an old mattress, general household debris, and construction debris at the house located at 1177 Jefferson Ave, which is the corner of Jefferson Terrace and Jefferson Avenue. The debris is piled on the Jefferson Terrace side of the house. My spouse spoke with the realtor who has advertised the house for sale about two weeks ago; however the debris remains. Both my spouse and I have left a voice mail for a code enforcement officer. Neither call has been returned. Please cite/fine the owner and require this old mattress and other junk to be removed. My family drives past this growing trash heap when we go to and from work and when we walk our dogs. We are tired of this unsightly mess. Thanks.

Thank you for the update.
My understanding is that the process with sanitation is: 1) after they are contacted, they will schedule time to stop by, look at the heap of trash and mattress, determine how much they will charge to remove it and then convey that information to the owner /realtor liaison. 2) the owner then contacts Customer Care with the estimate from Sanitation and pays that amount. 3) the sanitation department schedules time to remove the old mattress and other trash. Is this accurate?
I'm glad this process seems to be underway. However, given the three step nature of the process, where are the owners in the process? Has a specific date been scheduled for removal of the old mattress and trash heap?
If not, Has step one been completed? Has sanitation provided an estimate for the removal of the unsightly mess? 2) Has step two been completed? Have the owners paid to have the old mattress and trash removed? 3) Has a date been scheduled to remove the trash heap? What is that date?
Since we've been working to get this unsightly mess removed for two weeks, and the trash has been there for three weeks, I'm very interested in knowing the date for scheduled pickup of the trash heap?
Finally, why have these owners not been cited and fined already?
When we moved into our house a few months ago, we spent an entire weekend pulling privet and other invasive plants from our backyard. Within a day or so of placing these branches on the curb, we received a warning notice from Code Enforcement that the branches needed to be removed within a short period of time. We moved the branches to our back yard promptly and paid to have someone cart them away. Sanitation told us everything needed to be containerized in order to be picked up.
Since then, I routinely see large branches placed outside neighboring houses and picked up by sanitation.
Had I realized we would be living next to an old mattress on the curb and an unsightly pile of trash, for weeks, we would not have purchased a house in this neighborhood. I'm patient with families that are diligently working to remove trash, but I'm just not seeing that happen here.
Thanks in advance for providing a specific date by which the old mattress and trash heap will be removed

My spouse met the buyers of the house at 1177 Jefferson avenue yesterday. Very nice people. Despite what the real estate agent told my spouse two weeks ago, the house is still owned by the sellers and the closing won't occur until this upcoming Friday. I hope the new buyers won't be saddled with this mess.
Attached is a photo of the front of the house on Jefferson Avenue. From this angle, the house looks great. The trash heap, which remains today, is on the Jefferson Terrace side.
I hope the current owners, as of today, 10/13 will be fined. This unsightly mess devalues the value of homes in our neighborhood.
