Neighbors have tried in the past to get stop signs at Roanoke Park. That would slow down traffic and discourage people cutting through to Whitaker Mill. There should be a four-way stop at Fairview/Scales intersection and a four-way stop at Fairview/Aycock. The city seems uninterested in traffic calming measures.

I don't get how anybody can fly through Aycock - there are always cars parked on both sides of the street which by itself should be some sort of physical traffic calming measure - stop signs would help though.

Pierre, actually there is parking only on one side of the street, so that is why it is popular as a cut-through. I think the breweries up on Pershing have contributed to traffic as well.

After checking, I see there is parking on both sides of the street on the block before Reaves St., but after that only on one side.

Traffic Engineering staff will evaluate this intersection for a four-way stop.
