Community Development will assign an inspector to check the property for violations of the grass and weed ordinance. This ordinance only requires the cutting of grass or weeds over 8 inches in height and CONSUME AN ABUNDANCE of the yard. We cannot require the trimming of bushes, shrubs, bamboo, ornamentals, ivy or trees. Thank you for contacting us.
I live on Coldwater and this land between the creek and our property is neighborhood property. Some of us do keep the area clean behind our houses and I would prefer the city not come back here and cut the grass or trees behind my house. As for across from the pool, leave it natural. I'd rather see trees than unkempt fences and a path for the kids who show up each summer to see what they can take from others yards/cars. The removal of the trees already gave the neighborhood the "apartment" feel so I would prefer the neighborhood land be natural. Dumping stuff, yes, that is no tolerable. But please check the responsibility before doing work on the area. Just because it is a city/county right of way does not mean tax dollars should be spent making it less desirable looking.
