Description

Please see past postings. For over FIVE YEARS this problem has existed at 2501 Clifton. There's a huge hole in the side yard, which is an attractive nuisance. It traps water, leaves, trash, etc. The grass is overgrown. The City is aware of this problem at least as of last year - why is it doing nothing to correct the problem?

The hole is roughly 15 feet in diameter and 12" deep and it's overgrown with weeds. The back yard has multiple piles of dirt and weeds, as well.
I believe that code compliance has been out to visit this guy multiple times, but nothing changes. I'm tired of the eyesore and my property value being affected because of project that began and stalled five (5) years ago.
PLEASE make this clean up his act and be compliant with Lansing codes.

Agree. It's an eyesore and something needs to be done. I find that Carol Wood is a strong advocate, she responds to emails and will forward them to the appropiate person.

This property was written up by Code Compliance on September 8th for Grass & Weeds as well as Trash. Each of these letters allows seven days for the property owner to come into compliance unless they ask a reasonable extension. At the end of the seven days Code will reinspect the property and if the owner has not complied we will have the City contractor go in and clean-up the site. The property owner is billed for the work.
