My name is Jim Ford and I am the Director of Traffic for the Burlingame Police Department. I will have an officer conduct passing checks for this violation.

Is the problem that it's parked in the red zone or that it's blocking the driveway? If it's blocking the driveway and it's not the owner, then it should be tagged, maybe even towed. If it's parked in the red zone and it is the owner blocking their own driveway, what harm are they causing?

Just curious - because there are plenty of other parking violations and things BPD are charged with. Want to make sure we think about their time too.

The identity & intentions of car owner are irrelevant and unknown. What is relevant & known is the car routinely violates the law. The BPD is charged with enforcing the laws with tax revenue from its citizens. Arbitrarily enforcing laws leads to chaos, increased crime and lower safety.

Agree with Velasco - the identity of the owner is absolutely relevant. If this is not the owner's driveway then much more immediate action should be taken. If it is the owner's driveway this "issue" is a waste of BPD's valuable time.
