If it's valuable, Landry and Arcari will clean it for approx. $3 per square foot. They might buy it if it's good quality. We had good success putting stuff on the curb 2-3 days before trash day. Most stuff disappeared in less than an hour.
If you can cut it up (a small area rug) and place it in your trash bin they will take it. You can also consider donating it to Salvation Army or Lightbridge etc... If it is wall-to-wall rug then it would fall under construction debris then Salem will not take it but you could bring it to
