As a resident of the 400 block of Pershing Road, for years I have witnessed the daily blatant disregard for the 25mph speed limit on our street. The speeding is more prevalent during the morning and evening rush hours, and consists primarily of the work trucks for multiple businesses on the commercial end of our street. That being said, a noticeable increase in traffic has recently occurred, and many of the offenders appear to be (non-commercial) visitors at all hours of the day. As I have written this notice, over a span of 5 minutes, I have personally witnessed at least five cars and trucks flying down the street, most certainly exceeding the posted speed limit. Please post an unmarked patrol car in the area and you will see firsthand that my claims are not exaggerated.
