This is an OUTRAGE! You would never allow the signals for autos to be non-functioning for even a day, much less many months.

This is an ADA issue, not a convenience issue. The OP is currently unable to drive a motor vehicle due to a pinned hip. Walking a block is not an option for him.

I understand that the hardware is in place for these signals to work. It makes no sense to leave these signals off 24:7 until the new makings are completed with how busy this stretch of Gate City Blvd is. Mark Schulz needs to cross the street to catch a bus to get to work. With his pinned hip and crutches, he can only walk slowly and very short distances. Crossing Gate City Blvd without the assistance of a light is a dangerous proposition. Furthermore, leaving the signals off will result people either risking their lives crossing this busy street or getting in a car. I believe that the city would like more people to use transit, and it certainly does not want more pedestrians to be hit. Thank you for attending to this light signal problem.
