CAMERAS, CAMERAS, CAMERAS ARE NEEDED!!!!!!! Will someone from the city please respond?

Next, someone will dump a bunch of hazardous waste and jeopardize the health and safety of citizens and city employees. XYZ has it right with the camera suggestion. This is a problem and the City has not offered a real solution! This is sad and frankly I am tired of having to report this when it appears that the folks in city government don't care.

XYZ and others are right, we're not getting to the root cause of this issue. Field cameras are so inexpensive and keep on being suggested by the public. Why not shell out a couple hundred bucks on a couple of cameras and experiment and at least TRY a different approach? And what about this damn rumored "Clean City" campaign? If it's currently happening it's one of the lamest PR campaigns I've (n)ever seen! Now is the perfect opportunity for Mayor Harp to be speaking publicly with an anti-littering and anti-dumping message, backed up by creative, very public enforcement. It feels like we're losing the battle at this point. #GSCIA? I don't think so. Not yet anyway...

Rob is so right. As far as the Clean City Campaign, this is the first time I read anything about it. Also if anyone is caught illegally dumping anything it must to publicized, we have to send a message.

One thing I'd like to add is that it's currently so much easier and cheaper to dump items like this than to take them to the transfer station. Perhaps if we made that process simpler and less expensive (and then educated the public about the new process) we would see less of this illegal dumping. I've lived in areas where bulk pickup was free and illegal dumping simply wasn't an issue.
