Description

A complaint was called into the Resident Response Center against the driver of scooter number 0507, a female. Resident said that he is a father of a little girl who gets on a Girl Scout bus every morning at the corner of Manhattan and Central Avenues. He said the bus is pulled into a City bus stop and picks up about 5 girls ages 7-12. He said this only takes a few short minutes. The driver of the bus is older and she is aware that street cleaning will be happening, however they have been pre-scheduled to make that daily stop. Resident alleges that the female driver of scooter 0507 is confrontational every morning. She screams at the bus driver and the children to move and not stop there even though she is way ahead of the street sweeper and they have plenty of time to board the bus safely and depart before the street sweeper reaches that spot. Resident said he thinks it is inappropriate for a her to be getting out of the scooter to scream in the face of the bus driver and the children who are frightened by her behavior. Bus driver and the parents are aware of how much time they have in order to not impede the progress of the sweeper. He feels this is very inappropriate.
