People why can't you just call issues like this in? I really would like to know. I called after reading this post which was about 3 hours after it was first posted. It would have been better if the people who noticed this called because they could give a better description and could prevented any possible damage.

I also called the head of the baseball league and he addressed it. Not knowing if he would respond, I also tried giving SeeClickFix a try. It is now fixed. I would really like to know why you get so upset without knowing the entire story. Cool your jets.

I got upset because when there is a problem that needs immediate attention one can't just post and hope someone in authority reads it and has it taken care of. If a call is made it should be noted in the post. We have had natural gas odors and fires reported on this site. I am sorry if I upset you.

I was only able to call him after I posted. I had no idea who is in charge of what. Calling NHFD seemed like overkill for this issue.

You didn't tell us that you had that phone number. The Fire Department is not just for fires, but also for such malfunctions.. though they don't get cats out of trees, in New Haven, any more.. Whatever,, wow.. you kind of are blowing this out of proportion now yourself.. You asked for help,, we tried to help.. and now it turns out that you criticize us and had the solution all the time.. I'm beginning to be sorry I got involved.

Guys, phone died so I couldn't update when it was fixed. I had other things to manage besides a hose. I thought I was doing the right thing.

It would have been a terrible loss of water if you did nothing and it may have caused damage. All we were saying is sometimes it is better to call which you did.
Sometimes one should call, post to warn others and to have a record, and mention in your post that it was called in.

I agree 100%. Had circumstances been ideal (having a number at the time of my post, knowing someone was for sure coming to fix it, having a dying phone, and watching multiple children), that would have happened. I couldn't meet the protocol. I apologize.
