Upon yesterday soil was added to the pit to make the tree pit safer. The pit is awaiting a tree planting.

The tree grates are uneven because they move independently from each other. All our tree grate are missing pins that are designed to make the two grates move together, if at all. This is so when a truck comes up on the sidewalk it cannot break one grate. It is much more difficult to do this when they are connected the way they were designed to be pinned together. It keeps them flat. The grate sit in the rim. They do not sit on dirt usually. We have broken grates and missing halfs up and down Central Ave because the pins were not installed. David Diaz, from the Central SID, told me this. Now the grates do not sit right in the tree well.

New Trees have been planted along Central Ave., hence, the grates have been repositioned.
We offered to remove them permanently, but Mr. Diaz asked that they stay.
