Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. RMLD addresses issues of power lines and streetlights, but we are working with RMLD to address this issue.

When will the second (original) duplicate pole be removed to correct this danger? Thank you.

Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) checked out the pole today and has prioritized it as part of a larger, ongoing project replacing and repairing poles along Main Street this summer. This pole, Pole 92, was damaged in a car accident over the winter and some temporary work was done to secure the pole. RMLD has scheduled the removal of its equipment from the pole this week and contacted Comcast and Verizon to remove their equipment from the pole. Once those actions are completed, RMLD will be able to remove the redundant pole. We will close this issue once the pole is removed.

Correction: Verizon is responsible for removing the pole, not RMLD as previously stated.

Update: RMLD transfered their equipment off the pole today and "chunked" the old pole (removed the bottom of pole). This will remove the visibility hazard.
