Not sure if the no parking signs are legal but if they are it would be great to have them enforced near the Hancock and Main Street intersection. It poses a hazard mid day when cars are parking on both sides of Hancock starting right at the intersection.

I was pleased to read your article about a more aggressive sidewalk repair program in our town.
Having inviting walkways for pedestrians to get out and enjoy strolling around our town is just what this couch potato society needs.
My work schedule allows me to enjoy this town during the day and I spend much of it walking or jogging around town. The problem I run into mostly are vehicles blocking the sidewalk causing a hazard for pedestrians. I know this issue has been reported here before, and when it is the police usually respond to the problem. However I am doubtful, by the amount of cars I still see every day, that the police take action on their own to alleviate this safety hazard. I usually read in the newspaper 1 or 2 times a week that the police have ticketed a violator for this problem.
I usually see dozens of cars daily around town parked on the sidewalk and wondering why this continues to be a chronic issue.
If the police can stop a speeding car on Main Street or a car running a red light, then they should be able to stop and ticket a vehicle parked on the sidewalk without being prompted.
Before we spend too much money on repairing the sidewalks, let's make sure that they remain open for their intended use. Thank you very much for addressing the sidewalk issue.
Wright St And Maple Street Stoneham, Massachusetts
The other night I received a parking ticket because my passenger side tires were touching the sidewalk. If you drive down Wright Street or Maple you will find a LOT of cars blocking the sidewalk ALL year round even when the no parking ban is in effect. A little common sense may be good but if they are blocking the sidewalk they should be tagged.

The curving of the sidewalk (cement) has completely sunk causing drivers to use the sidewalk to bypass traffic. We have 2 toddlers in the home and a baby on the way and are afraid to walk on the sidewalk during busy traffic times.

It has come to my attention that the "No Dogs Allowed" sign has been removed at Recreation Park. With all the kids on the field during the week (Boys Club & Youth Sports) this is a Health Issue. One person slips in the mess from people not picking it up, falling, touching others and other things can certainly is a cause for concern with Health issues, not to mention slipping and breaking/spraining something.
Please reinforce the "No dogs allowed".
I certainly hope that this can be a cause for concern. Thank you.

The truck in front of 12 Gerry Street is still blocking the sidewalk enough that I can't get by with my stroller. You would think that a Stoneham resident that registers his vehicle out of state would be more discreet and violating town packing codes.
