Description
What is the problem with the road surface on the bridge? the two ends of the bridge are not even with the road and it causes a problem with cars slowing down or stopping to a crawl to make it over these two spots. Why can't these be fixed or does the city have no funds to correct this problem, so that the bridge will close properly.

The bridge is currently in a 3-year design process for a 2-year $25 million overhaul starting no earlier than late 2017 contingent on funding. There are various reasons for the unevenness at the ends of the spans, all related to the age and mechanical function of the bridge. It is not an easy problem to fix, but we are working on it both in the near term and as part of the longer term overhaul. Thanks for your question.
