one simple relatively inexpensive fix would be to paint a cross walk and in the middle of the road put a sign on a small moveable cement block - that says pedestrian crossing. they have one mid-block on laSalle road in west hartford center. its a busy steet much like grand avenue - and it works! the more pedestrian friendly we make our corridor the better.
