I didn't write the original complaint but I will comment. They are all over Fair Haven. I've seen them mostly on Front, East Pearl, East Chapel, James. Not only no lights, but young children ride without helmets (I'm talking about 5 & 6 year olds.) Also, I have seen more than once two children sitting on one bike (no helmets). I've seen quite a few go the wrong way on East Pearl Street. If I was speeding like so many people in the neighborhood do, the kid would have gotten seriously injured and then who would be to blame? I don't believe the fault is necessary the child's. It's the fault of the parents. They sit outside and watch their kids doing this and say nothing, so the kids think this is acceptable behavior. The parents should be arrested or fined for allowing their children to ride bikes without helmets and the bikes should be confiscated. I don't think there is enough police presence in Fair Haven. There are days you could ride everywhere in the Fair Haven district and not see one police car. Yet you get out of Fair Haven and then you see two or three on one corner and so many more in the East Rock area of town! Go figure.

We are trying to delineate issues that are current and need the city's attention to resolve. Any issues prior to 2013 are being closed. If your issue remains and needs to be addressed by the city, please either re-open or open as a new See Click Fix issue. Thanks.
