OK so that was taken care of but apparently this is now the normal activilty of the house occupants. Today there was not only trash everywhere vut a beer can in on the side walk. Mind you this all winds up on my property due to their neglegance. additionally I want to be sure ths city will enforce/ticket and tow all cars not in compliance of snow parking. I am so sick of this house making hte neighborhood trash and the city not noticing this is now a taxable 2 family home due to the "new' apartment and pleas take care of your taxpayers. I would leave now if I could sell my home but who would buy with this trash next door?!

Trash defines the West Haven streetscape. City officials don't like to hear that, but it's true.... just look around. Your best strategy is to get to know your community police officer. I think that for Blohm St, that would be Officer Mark Vere, who is EXCELLENT at responding to these situations and acting on them. You have to wonder about people who week after week put out their trash by just throwing bags full of critter-attracting garbage out onto the curb, the night before or even earlier, and by the morning of pick-up, the bags have been torn into by those critters and garbage scattered all over. It would be unreasonable to expect the trash collectors to pick up that loose garbage, and often as not -- no, more often -- the residents just leave the debris there, where it washes away or blows away, into the streets, onto others' properties, or onto the beaches and into the Sound. There's one property on Beach St, next to the bait shop, where this is a weekly occurrence. It's not like these people can't afford to buy garbage cans - they drive fancy spotless cars. But they NEVER pick up the loose garbage, until I nag Officer Vere, who must pay them a visit and tell them to pick up their garbage.
