Shuter needed to be resurface a few years back already. This road as described is dangerous at best for anyone on 2 wheels. Motorbikes and bicycles. Also the amount of dirt being dumped by the Regent Park construction crews is out of control. One can hardly breath in the spring/summer time on this stretch of road. BTW, why don't the construction crews actually have to clean up after themselves on a regular basis. (please don't insult me by telling me they do, I ride this road daily)

Yeah, the dust and dirt is disgusting. Not only is it difficult to breathe, visibility is often poor. The lanes are filled with sand and mud, and frequently debris. I don't know why nothing is being done. Maybe is the cyclists union or whatever it's called now wasn't so useless...

This is a hazzard for drivers as well as we are now expected to swerve around cyclists who don't pay attention to traffic.

Sister, what is the point of your post? Are you complaining about road damage or just taking an opportunity to insult cyclists? If you want to talk about people not paying attention to traffic, go talk to the guy who doored me.

Yes, this section of Shuter is very bad for cyclists (and not great for cars either). It needs a major overhaul not more patching!

Brashley46 - no they're not because we are swerving away. If anything they will cause an accident.
Ryan - are you one of those cyclists who feel they are entitled to run a red light and not stop at crosswalks? The road damage is bad for drivers too.

Sister1 is trying to make this a bike vs car issue and is adding nothing to the fix we need for horrible road condition that is Shuter.

Sister, I tell you I was doored by cabbie and you respond by insulting cyclists? What has that to do with the road damage that makes using the bike lane dangerous? If you think that they decaying road is a problem for drivers and not just a safety issue for cyclists, that's great. Make that case, but if you just want to troll I suggest that you go find something better to do. If you read the original complaint, the inconvenience to drivers is addressed.

One thing you fail to consider is that there are several streets parallel to Shuter, but Shuter is the only one with a bike lane, so it is the best option for cyclists. If you find it difficult to drive on, try Dundas. There are fewer cyclists.

Nothing will happen till regent park finished then all road resurfaced
