Forcing these KIDS to take the bus would also begin to help our enviroment and and might help our nation learn to respect public transportion more

As a former student from Saratoga High, I do agree that something needs to be done about the traffic. Either lights or stop signs. I do not think that forcing the students to take a bus will help this situation because then the parents to majority of the students will start driving the students who don't want to or can't take the bus. Also, it's a privilege to even be able to drive to school to the seniors of the school. It also gives the senior students the ability to drive on their lunch break to get lunch.

As a feed off thought from "realist"'s second post, if the student's were to start taking the buses, it wouldn't change the cleanliness of the environment seeing how once they get home the students will be able to drive wherever they may please. None of the less, its the cars that EVERYBODY drives that should be reconsidered than just us "KIDS" driving.

Dear 2010 Student, when you have lived in the real world without your mommy and daddy giving you everything then you voice will be heard. You need to experience the world before you can understand these concepts. KIDS and I say kids because that is what high school students are, need to stop being treated like college kids or young adults. Everyday I watch them come into school drinking their coffee and talking on cell phones. There is no reason a kid need cell phones at school or need to drive to and from school. I pay excessive taxes every year to help fund the buses those children should be taking and am sick of seeing half empty buses.

The problem is not just students who drive themselves to school, but also the parents who drive their kids to school. There's an excessive amount of parents dropping their kids off each day which also leads to congestion.

I for one would like to see the high school allow parking for students in the parking lot near the old gym. Students should have to apply for use and their privilege should only be for a semester so others can enjoy driving to school.

Also, W. Circular and 3 Blue Streak Blvd should not be where cars are allowed to enter the grounds. Most of the time they're speeding through the parking lot with no regard to anyone who might happen to be walking. If it's a student driving, they should enter from West Ave.

And of course, the other issue is parents not being able to say no and feeling it's their duty as a good parent to drop their kid off. They drop them off in the Administrative parking let which is not supposed to be allowed. They stop in the middle of Blue Streak Blvd and drop them off, they drive recklessly across the parking lots, etc.

Solution, more need to be taking the bus that should be taking the bus.

Dont think that most kids that live in the city need to drive to school.

I agree with the 1st response from Realist. Take the bus and leave the cars home.
