According to the City of Lansing Code Compliance website there have been 6 trash and motor vehicle citations issued to this property since August 2015. Furthermore a single family rental needs to be rental certified every two years but the last certification is 8/21/2013. So their certification should be expired.

City of Lansing, can we please get some action here? There's no point in having rental certifications if you don't enforce them.

No click fix, I don't want to close this issue because it still exists just as strong as ever. Nothing has been done to fix the house or yard or drug use or neglected children. Junk still fills both James and Dwight streets. The property owner does nothing to fix the situation, neither does the city or the police dept. The neighbors that have lived there for years are now all moving out. All because of one property owner that sucks in the government payments that he receives every month due to the ongoing growing child population at 1624 James St. That same landlord has always neglected that house, but at least the tenants were kind, intelligent, good people in the past. For the life of me, I cannot understand why these tenants have not been arrested for drug reasons and the kids put into a loving home elsewhere. It's pathetic.

It appears there's a City of Lansing direct contact and question in the March 10th comment. It appears as well that the City of Lansing has not seen or had a chance to reply to the comment so far. It seems as if SCF is not the place for this issue if there should be action.

Troublesome tenants have moved away. Hopefully property owner will fix up the house and properly screen and manage new tenants.
