Description
There is a newly installed left turn light before the 285 overpass north of 285 on Powers Ferry Road southbound. It changes between a green arrow and a red arrow for left turns. This intersection was working fine when the only left turn signal went from a green arrow to no arrow allowing divers wanting to make a left turn to make it when there was no northbound traffic on a green light. Now since the light changes from a green arrow to a red arrow, not allowing any southbound traffic to turn left the traffic is backing up several hundred yards and has to wait a complete cycle of the light to get a left turn signal. This is wasteful of fuel and time with very limited improvement in safety. The recommendation is simple, remove the red arrow from southbound traffic flow when they have a green and or be sure the yellow blinking arrow is on when the southbound green is on to allow drivers to turn left when traffic allows.
