Does anyone else have an issue with the lane reduction from 4 lanes + a turn lane between Cotillion and Chateau? Before the repaving, northbound there was two lane plus a left turn lane at Georgetown Plaza and then there was a turn lane into Olde Spring House. Southbound there were two lanes between Chateau and Olde Spring House with a left turn lane at Dunwoody Park, two lanes + right turn lane into Georgetown Plaza and then a left turn lane, a thru lane and a right turn lane at Cotillion and 285 west ramp. Now they have added extra wide bike lanes that do not connect with any of the trails in Dunwoody and there are only one thru lane north at Georgetown Plaza, the second lane is a dedicated left turn lane into the plaza and south bound at Olde Spring House there is one thru lane and a dedicated left turn lane into Dunwoody Park. Why would they reduce the lanes in this area, one of the busiest in Dunwoody? If asked, I'd have recommended that they make an effort to make it 2 lanes north and 2 lanes south to where Chamblee Dunwoody makes a left turn at Shallowford and Peeler. -

4490-4544 Chamblee Dunwoody Road Dunwoody, Georgia - DunwoodySee previous issue last responded to by Dunwoody that they had contacted the DOT to evaluate the need for a signal in 2011. This is an ongoing issue with many near miss encounters for cars trying to turn on to Cotillion east from Chamblee-Dunwoody south bound on the north side of I-285. A "smart signal light" that could tell if a car was in the turn lane would be ideal or taking the existing signal timing on both sides of the bridge and coordinating them so that their is a "window of opportunity" for cars to make the left turn. Cars coming off of I-285 turning north on C-D are moving too fast by the time they get to that intersection and if you are in the turn lane for Cotillion you cannot see past the cars north bound on C-D turning left onto I-285 West
