Thank you for your concern. A bicycle may be deemed abandoned if it has been locked in the same location on public property for one month or longer and meets two or more of the following criteria at which point it can be removed by the Department of Public Works for public safety and maintenance purposes:
1. no tires or wheels
2. missing or warped wheels, handle bars, or seats
3. missing, rusted, or broken chain in a state that renders it inoperative
4. visible layer of dust on the seat and/or handle bars
Bikes meeting the criteria of the Abandoned Bicycle Ordinance have been tagged and/or removed from the area reported.
