New curbs on local 56th St corners but Kimbark between 55th & 56th continues to be pitted and uneven.

A truck came by last week and put some tar in a few of the holes. Yawn. Not a very thorough job - still cracks a plenty in the street.

No action - just walked Kimbark Ave. between 56 - 57th street (in front of Ray School during the art fair) and wondered if the Mayor might be trying save a bit of money on installing school speed-trap cameras by using the potholes instead. There are open chunks of blacktop missing on both streets - Kimbark between 55 to 57th has been wrecked by the heavy buses and delivery trucks that ramble through each day. Can we have some fresh macadam please? (For the whole street - curb to curb - not just a casual patch job?)

Water main work has started two blocks south of 55th. Hopefully when this work is done the street will be repaved. Meanwhile......

Water Main work has been done on Kimbark between 57th & 58th Sts. (East half of the street repaved between those blocks - closing only the opening that replaced the pipes. The West half of that block is still in need of resurfacing.) That work was done early in July. Weeks have passed with no sign that the two blocks that were announced as part of the project will be done. Is the Water Department going to finish the 55th - 57th S Kimbark blocks? Hopefully if he Dept of Water Management is planning to do this work, as it is the home of Ray School - it will be completed before the opening of school at the end of this month.

Water Department doing major rehab at the moment. Concerned about the chemical content of the water post renovation.

The street work was finished in November. We have new water pipes and fresh paving. Though it too almost five months fro start to finish, it was worth waiting for.
