We have the advocates to blame giving out syringes and not dealing with the aftermath. These drug addicts do care about the used syringes, litter, the spoiled food and human waste they leave behind. All they care about is getting cash to high period.
I thought the encampment was given a 72 hr notice or that hasn't passed yet? Why a 72hr notice anyway. They are breaking the law. The sidewalk and lot is not a home. If they are going to treat it as an eviction than in the real world that means leave and you don't or can't return. It's disgusting.
Thank you for contacting the Department of Public Works regarding this matter. However, additional information is needed before your request can be processed. Are the used needles you are reporting inside the park? or are they on the sidewalk, gutter line or street? Hazmat issues are handled by the Fire Department and they will need detailed information regarding the location of the needles. You can also submit an image of the location of the needles. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
By looking at the map the used syringes (hypodermic needles) are in the park. They can also be found in large numbers at almost all of the encampments in Oakland. The drug and drunk advocates must get a great deal by buying bulk.
Advocates think they are helping the homeless by supplying and helping them with their drug use and the rest of us are suppose to feel compassion. They need to start cleaning up behind the mess they are creating. What's going to happen if a child picks up one of these syringes because of the negligence of the city?
