Every time there's significant rainfall, lots of soil runs off from the southwest corner of this area down toward the river (and, to a lesser extent, from the west side toward RY Management). This is a waste of soil and money, not to mention staff time to clean it up. (This afternoon, they were out during the thunderstorm, dealing with the RY Management area.) It can't possibly be all that hard to prevent -- for instance, the flow is blocked by a big concrete slab at the corner, and goes uphill around it.

Plantings in that area, which is a desolate mess, would be a big help in preventing soil runoff, not to mention making it look a lot better. Where are the promised 3 young trees to replace the big one that was removed in mid-April because its roots were damaged?
