Good afternoon I'm Inspector Davis with the Department of Neighborhoods I'm the Inspector for the area. This is a commercial dumpster and I will refer it to Solid Waste. Thanks
To Helen: I realize there is an ordinance for this, but it seems kind of petty and if the city actually did something about this but actively neglects to enforce public safety violations like missing handicap ramps, broken sidewalks and potholes, then we have some seriously misplaced priorities in this city. Heck I've actually reported a number of dumpsters blocking sidewalks and the city has done nothing about them.
Helen, Veronica Davis above works for city. She placed one of those yellow notices on my house because our "grass was too tall" when I pointed the broken sidewalks she said "it was the property owner's responsibility, refused to put notify the property owner and that I needed to take the matter up with the property owner. So yes this may be code violation, but it's funny what is a priority to someone like V.Davis. She is basically meeting her quota of closed tickets by going after the low hanging fruit and ignoring the stuff that actually matters. In the meantime she is acting like the lapdog for a politically connected neighbor who is more than happy to feed her these sorts of petty complaints.
Good morning Ms Karen all citizens complaints are important to us. The City of Houston is customer service driven and all complaints are file through 311 and then generated to each Departments. Unfortunately this particular complaint should have been given to the Solid Waste Dept and I actually forward it to that Department. I'm sorry that someone issue a complaint on your property but we do encourage each and all citizens to keep their weeds cut and follow the guidelines that are in place with the City of Houston Code of Ordinance when it comes to high weeds. If you see a complaint please feel free to call 311. Thanks

Ms Karen you can do an open record request through 311 or Departments of Neighborhoods at 7125 Ardmore St 77054. Thanks

Ms. Davis, a neighbor did an open records request and found that the city has issued zero notices to property owners to fix broken sidewalks. I pointed a broken sidewalk to you on Peden and you told me it was the property owner's responsibility and that it was up to me to get with the homeowner. So why do I get a notice for grass and my neighbors don't get notices for broken sidewalks? There are hundreds of issues involving sidewalks on this site and the city has closed every one and taken zero actions.
Ms Karen please feel free to call me at 713 408 0436 or you can send an email to veronica.davis@houtx.gov. A citizen issue a complaint concering this dumpster I sent an email letting them know that their complaint was received and that I was going to forward it to Solid Waste. I don't want to discourage them from filing a complaint by having a personal conversation with you that has nothing to do with them or this complaint. Please feel free to contact me personally and I will be more than happy to answer any and all questions you may have. Thanks
