Really, the problem is that Connecticut is totally car dependent. People make jokes about Los Angeles, but Connecticut is just as bad in the sprawl department. The CT DOT is notorious for bad design, corruption and profligacy - two BILLION dollars $2,000,000,000 for a bridge?
Despite all of the road building in the past fifty years, Connecticut's cities are more depressed and derelict than ever. The only transit amenity that Connecticut has going for it is the rail line into New York City, which our predecessors had the vision and common sense to build - no thanks to the CT DOT.
