I definitely understand and have the same issue. I have not replaced my garbage cans though...the top broke off the first week from it being slammed, the top snapped off and broke after I fixed it the next week. So now I be topless cans and get to deal with the animals who tip it and go to down. The garbage cans also have a hole on the bottom and a huge crack in the others. I wish they would be more careful. Don't have discretionary income to keep replacing. So for now they sit mangled and damaged.
